Welcome to Little Dove

Megan Houle

Owner, Lactation Specialist & Craniosacral Therapist

With over a decade of experience as a registered nurse and lactation consultant, I've had the privilege of helping many families navigate the complexities of breastfeeding. My passion for maternal and infant health began 15 years ago in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, where I witnessed firsthand the importance of skilled lactation support. My own breastfeeding challenges with my first child further ignited this dedication. As a mother of four, I’ve gained invaluable insights from the unique experiences each of my children brought. I use both my personal and professional expertise to empower families, giving them the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in their breastfeeding journeys.

Throughout my career, I've supported families in various settings, including hospitals and individual consultations, tailoring my approach to meet their specific needs and circumstances. I’ve also led prenatal breastfeeding classes, preparing expectant parents for what to expect, and educated healthcare professionals on the importance of lactation support, promoting best practices in the field.

In addition to my clinical background and Bachelor of Science in Nursing, I am certified by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBCLC). I am committed to staying current with the latest research and best practices in lactation support through ongoing education and training. In 2024, I completed the Certified Independent Lactation Therapist (CILT) Diploma program at the Hazelbaker Lactation Institute, focusing on craniosacral therapy for breastfeeding support. This additional training allows me to offer a more holistic approach to lactation challenges.

My greatest reward is being part of families' breastfeeding journeys and helping them achieve their goals. Supporting parents, whether they are new to this or have previous experience, as they connect with their babies is something I truly cherish, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to make a positive difference in their lives.
